Dragon Athletics Round-Up: The Word of the Week(s) is Teamwork!

Whether on the court or the field, our Dragon student-athletes faced some tough opponents these past two weeks. Yet, in true Speyer fashion, they fought hard and showcased their strong teamwork! 

Our 7/8 Soccer team met up with the team from Hunter. In a fast-paced game, Speyer was up 2-0 at the half, but Hunter came back scoring three goals and the Dragons lost 3-2. Meanwhile, the 5/6 Soccer team faced Gaynor on a brisk autumn afternoon. With a solid defense, Speyer held them to only two goals and ended up with a 5-2 win!

On the court, Speyer’s Volleyball team continues to improve their game play and skills. First up was Bank Street, which proved to be a formidable match and the Dragons lost 3-0. As they took on Avenues, Speyer kept it close in each set and battled for each point. Yet, the Dragons fell short, losing 3-0.
