INspeyerED Summer Camp (Grades 1-6)
This is the heart of our summer programming! Campers attend specialized classes in cooking, art/makerspace, science, and sports! Choice and community are core components of our camp experience. Campers attend a daily elective of their choice, and have multiple opportunities each day for choice time,  games, hands-on learning,  and design challenges. Physical activity, inquiry, and play are woven into everything we do at camp!

Lil’ Dragons Summer Camp (Kindergarten)
This is a very special kindergarten version of our INspeyerED Camp for rising kindergarteners! Campers visit the same classes as older INspeyerED campers, while also getting to meet special members of our Speyer community! The group is led by two head teachers in order to provide extra support and nurturing to our youngest campers. We’ve even infused an additional layer of learning into our Lil’ Dragons program by adopting a dual language model, which immerses campers in both English and Spanish throughout the day!

Chess Summer Camp (Grades 1-8)
Explore the beauty of chess through games of the masters and games of the students. Chess Camp is an opportunity for chess players to extend their engagement in the chess process with two weeks of dynamic chess thinking, playing, studying, analyzing, and learning. This camp is open to campers who have participated in a minimum of nine tournaments during the school year. In addition to dedicated chess time, campers attend an elective class and an Engineering/STEM class and PE class each day.

Bread Making Summer Camp (Grades 5-8)
This camp will explore both the art and science behind baking bread. Each day campers will learn how to bake a different yeast based bread from start to finish. Campers will refine their measuring skills and will learn how to properly knead, roll and season doughs. Campers will gain experiences with the process of baking sourdough breads, sweet breads, pizza dough, pretzels and more! In addition to baking breads, campers will get to try out different sauces, jams and spreads to complement their baked creations.

Reading & Writing Summer Camp (Grades 5-8)
This uniquely Speyer camp will explore the rich and exciting world of genres  through a reader’s and writer’s lens. Campers will discover a wide array of possibilities this summer that can inspire the budding writer inside of them. Each day, campers  will read and discuss selections from different genres and hone their critical thinking skills as they work their way through plots, themes and author’s styles. In addition, campers will write and illustrate their own stories, and will culminate their camp experience with a publishing party.

Debate & Public Speaking Summer Camp (Grades 5-6-7)
Kick off your summer vacation with a fun and stimulating program of debating and public speaking. Campers will engage in various forms of debates and speech making.  Activities will focus on how to formulate effective arguments and clearly express them, how to engage with and refute opposing arguments, as well as general public speaking skills. This is the perfect camp option for Middle School students interested in joining, or already on the Speyer Debate Team.

High School Essay Writing Summer Camp (Grades 7-8)
Campers will work together in a supportive environment to craft essays while refining the skills necessary to write compelling pieces for high school applications. Campers will learn to present themselves in positive and thoughtful ways while reading, writing, and revising personal essays. Through this workshop, writers will become more self-reflective writers, and more confident in how to best present themselves in a positive light.
